You don’t need 15 minutes and six products to style your hair. Here’s a fast routine that works for most guys.
Step 1: Start Damp, Not Wet
Towel dry until your hair is about 80% dry. Too wet and the product won’t hold. Too dry and you lose the ability to shape it. Damp is the sweet spot.
Step 2: Use Less Product Than You Think
Start with a dime-sized amount. You can always add more, but too much product leaves your hair looking greasy or crunchy. Rub it between your palms until it’s evenly distributed.
Step 3: Work Back to Front
Start at the back of your head and work forward. This prevents overloading the front where mistakes are most visible. Save the front and top for last when you have the most control.
Step 4: Use Your Fingers, Not a Comb
Fingers give you texture and natural movement. Combs create that slicked, trying-too-hard look. Run your fingers through in the direction you want your hair to go.
Done
That’s it. Two minutes, one product, no stress. Do this every morning and your hair will look like you actually put in effort—without actually putting in much effort.
